This can be seen as the literature review
of document A City for All (social Sustainability Policy). This document was
found on the way for searching the relevant materials for group work. The task
for my part is associated with the aspect of Urban Governance, which is one of
the four pillows to development sustainable city. This document is not the
action plan for social sustainable development, it rather like a guideline to identify
the property of city.
Ten principles are described for the city of Sydney. Firstly, the principles of city policy emphasize the importance of respecting the aboriginal and social tolerance. Moreover, the city wants to make some contribution of social sustainability by focusing on housing, transport, education, employment, income, governance, health, safety, repationships and sense of identify and belonging, creative expression, and the quality of the environment in where we lived. Furthermore, the city also focuses on reduce the inequality and prejudice on People of all ages, abilities, incomes, cultures, languages, sexual orientations, gender identities, religions, and lifestyles are welcomed. The city gives more right for the local communities to develop themselves and holds different activities for different kinds of people to participate and influence local decisions. It is also can be seen as the urban governance in sustainability.
