thinking about TOD

Transit oriented development (TOD) is city planning idea which focuses on the public transport system development. This city development idea maximizes the number of residential, commercial and recreational spaces around transit hub within walking distance. The main idea of Transit oriented development aims to increase the use of public transport system reducing the use of privacy cars and achieving sustainable development goal.
Transit oriented development (TOD) is usually around core transit hub, which is used for light train, bus stop or train station. The main feature of Transit oriented development layout is that the high-density mix development closely sits around the transit hub with low- density area spreading out form the transit hub. The areas closed to transit hub aims to be a walkable neighborhood, which prefers smaller block sizes and reduces the land for privacy car uses.
PS: walking distance usually means that 5minutes walking distance about 400 meters and 8 minutes walking distance about 800 meters.
